About Us

Our Mandali was established on the auspicious date of 17th January 1941 in the month of Posh according to the Indian Lunar Calendar with a noble thought of helping those city people who expected to be self established and be helpful to such independent working class individuals who wished financial aid . Kai. Va. Shri Nanasaheb Sidhram thought to set up a Sahari Mandali. He held a discussion with highly proficient and social figures of this field namely Shri amrutrao Vakde , Shri Jayantrao Kale and Narayanrao Wagh. The discussion was further held with Shri Narayanrao Shripatrao Shinde who was the then Sahakari Adhikari of the city Baroda. Moreover the proposed discussion went on to other proficient people like Shri Mansih Gaekwad, Dr. Appasaheb Chavhan and Shri Baburao Anandrao Garud. The proposal of establishing our Sahakari Mandali was kept forward for the first time by Shri Nanasaheb Shinde in the first meeting and then under the guidance of Sahari Adhikari of our city Baroda Shri Narayanrao Shripatrao Shinde the organization rules and regulations were set, the legal estabhishment formalities took place on date 17th January 1941 by the name of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Sahakari Mandali Ltd. Baroda. And that was a glorious start of our venture.

In the first month, we had 251 members (sabha sad) and the shares capital of Rs. 2650. Monthly savings was Rs. 1003 /- and loans permitted to the members were of Rs. 2381/- accordingly yielded a profit of Rs. 35/- that year. From the start the decided prices of each share was Rs. 5 and henceforth were a total shares of Rs. 5000/-. Shri Nanasaheb Shidramrao Shinde hence had the golden privilege of being the first president of our mandali. Under his guidance, the Sahakari Mandali acquired the best of his knowledge and his tactics to run the Mandali successfully. We had much contribution in the success due to Shri Amrutrao Vakde. He began the official tasks of the Mandali in his own house in the first starting days for our Mandali and gave honorary services. Awareness had spread gradually among people due to such dedicated cooperation and due to this many of the members took advantage of the services offered by the mandali and released their mortgaged houses and hence giving financial and management growth to the Mandali.

While benefitting from the services provided by the Mandali many members purchased their new homes as well as had new constructions. Hence, the peoples liking for the Mandali grew day by day as it progressed that also increased the knowledge and awareness of savings amongst the society. From the year 1953- 54, by offering attractive interest rates, we began to mobilize fixed depositsand thus gave another avenue for savings. In the year 1957-58, the mandali also began giving gold loans to those members who needed funds on urgent basis and had no guarantors for loans.

After this tremendous progress we also began with the recurring deposit accounts in the year 1964-65. Due to such enthusiastic and positive response from our members towards savings, the Mandali could reap better profits. With the unconditional and selfless commitment from highly proficient and experienced people such as Shri Nanasaheb Shinde, Shri Ramchandra Rao Pawar, Shri Narayrao Shinde, Shri Sitaram Tavde, Shri Vitthalrao Vakde, Shri Krishnarao Jagtap; the Mandali had got tremendous success and progress. Next logical step was to acquire property premises for the mandali, undergoing such progress, the thought of self possessed property for the Mandali had taken a curious and eager perspect in each of the mandali member, but to get a place worthy and that matched the Mandali requirements wasn’t that easy.

Shri Jaghdane Ganpatrao Khanderao

To have this desire fulfilled it took seven long years. The efforts resulted in purchase of property of Baranpura and 1st building of Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Sahakari Mandali ltd. was “Shiv Shakti”. And the people who contributed to the realization of this dream are worthy of hearty gratitude. Among them, Shri ganpatrao Khanderao Jagdhane who served the mandali for ten long years as the president was very important. The architect of our built up – Shri Vittalrao Pawale gave reality to our imagination while the in charge of the whole construction activities could complete were Shri Babasaheb Shinde and Shri Jayvantrao Deshmukh. They have contributed and have done a remarkable job.

With such progressive steps and cooperation received, the mandali completed 25 successful years and celebrated its “Rajat Utsav” on date 23rd Jan 1966, under the successful chairmanship of Shri krishnarao Pandurangrao Jagtap.
With the passing years and increasing work and progress, the single storied building was felt lesser and smaller for the work and capacity of employees’ and members’ accommodation. Hence under the chairmanship of Shri Ganpatrao Khanderao Jagdhane, we got the decision to build 2 storeys. Our next achievement was introduction of H.P. scheme and we funded the dreams of our members to purchase TV, Scooter,Auto Rickshaw etc. The Mandali began a scheme for the fixed deposits for 72 months that gave returns of more than double the amount called as the “Shivkalyan Yojana”. This resulted in heavy and increasing funds in the Mandali that helped in giving loans to the shareholders during their difficult times. Later we had a golden opportunity to work with a young, dynamic and knowledgeable chairman Shri Ramakant Jaysinghrao Pawale, highly experienced and that gave the right guidance over financial and administrative matters.

He was a highly efficient person and had different working patterns and targeted much work in lesser time. He in fact increased the funds from lakhs upto more than a crore during his tenure. Shri Ramakant Jaysinghrao Pawale understood the need to increase the share holders base. He took the initiative and made the employees of Public sector unit to our shareholders. By doing so he inducted low cost funds in lesser time which in turn increased our profits and presence of our Mandali was spread over across all communities. Notebook Distribution was initiated by Shri Ramakant Jaysinghrao Pawale.

Shri Ramakant Pawale worked with us for less than a year and left us forever. In his absence, but following his ideology the Mandali worked hard to achieve the target and reached upto one and a half crore. He was full of progressive attitude, kindness and affection towards the Mandali.

The shareholders could receive monetary support in times of difficulty, and get their houses under ownership; hence the Mandali helped each of them in their personal and social difficulties which in turn built a trustful image.

The continuous progress and increase in activities led the then Chairman Mr. Shivajirao Pawale to create a

The increase in working capital, deposits, profit and member confidence was reflected in Raygadh under Chairmanship of Mr. Gaurav Pawale the son of Shri Ramakant Jayshighrao Pawale. Mr. Gaurav Ramakant Pawale has helped the Mandali progress following the ideology of his father by continuing his begun initiatives like the Notebook Distribution as well as initiating many other schemes like Shiv Kalyan Putri Yojana, distributing fresh new currency notes on festival occasions to the shareholders.
